Zotero is a free, open-source web browser extension that helps you gather citation information. It captures full reference details from online databases, Google Scholar, and some publisher websites, saving them to your personal Zotero Library. In your Zotero library, you can enrich these saved references by adding notes, tags, attachments, and keywords.
The Mendeley Reference Manager offers the flexibility to collect and save citation entries from any location, making it easy to bring them into your Mendeley Desktop Library. Once your references are saved, you can enrich them with personal notes, tags, attachments, and keywords for better organization.
Getting Your Citation from SuperSearch
When you're looking at the full details of an item in SuperSearch, you can easily get a ready-made reference citation. Just scroll down to the "Send To" section and click on "Citation." From there, you can choose the citation style you need.
Remember, always double-check this citation! While SuperSearch tries its best, there might still be a few mistakes.
Generating Citations from Library Databases
When you're using the University Library's various research databases, you'll find that they often include a built-in citation tool. Look for an icon, usually a quotation mark ( " ), or a button labeled "Cite" next to each resource. Clicking on this will generate a reference citation for you.
However, it's crucial to remember to double-check these automatically generated citations. While convenient, databases can occasionally introduce minor errors.
