Interlibrary Loan Department: ILL FAQ

How to use Interlibrary Loan at CSU-Pueblo

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long can I keep returnable items from another library?
  2. Can I request renewals if I need more time?

Ordering Materials Through Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan allows you to order items from other libraries nationally and internationally.  Articles are yours to keep, while books, dvds, dissertations, and other formats are typically loaned from 6 to 8 weeks.  Renewals are not automatic and depends on the loaning library's policies.  Many returnable items can be renewed, and renewal requests can be made automatically through My Account in WorldCat or in your ClioWeb account, or by contacting the Interlibrary Loan Department directly. There are a number of ways to make Interlibrary Loan requests.  Click on the Top Tabs and follow step-by-step instructions.

FAQ Answers:  How long can I keep an item?

  1. It depends on the loaning library.  We obtain items in stat, nationally, and internationally.   Most loan items for between four and eight weeks, but some types of materials, like dvds, may only circulate for a 1 week period. Your specific due date is on the white label attached to the cover.
  2. Unless the item's label says NO RENEWALS, you can make a request for renewal using either Worldcat MyAccount or your ClioWeb account.
