The Giza Project began at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and moved to Harvard in 2011. By partnering with other institutions around the world, the Giza Project aims to collect, digitize, and make freely available all archaeological evidence from the Giza Plateau.

The Project has used its vast quantity of information to begin building a 3D virtual reconstruction of the Giza Plateau as it may have looked when first built, providing new ways to sightsee, explore, and learn about the pyramids and their surrounding cemeteries.
